Welcome to Our New School Mascot – The Clouded Leopard!

We are thrilled to introduce our new school mascot, the Clouded Leopard.

This selection carries deep significance, as the clouded leopard is listed as endangered in Cambodia and vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. By adopting this incredible animal as our mascot, we have an exciting opportunity to raise awareness about conservation efforts and the importance of protecting endangered species. This aligns closely with our school’s vision and one of our SLOs: Active Citizens.

The mascot will serve as a symbol of unity and a reminder of our collective responsibility to care for the environment. We look forward to integrating the clouded leopard into our school culture and bringing it to life in a meaningful way.

Let’s all give a warm welcome to the Footprints Leopards!

Footprints International School Selected for the Prestigious ASEAN-Australia BRIDGE Program

We are thrilled to share that Footprints International School has been selected to participate in the prestigious ASEAN-Australia BRIDGE Program for 2025-2026! This program is an initiative of the ASEAN-Australia Centre at the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and is implemented by Asialink Education at the University of Melbourne.

The selection process for this program was highly competitive, with only the most outstanding schools chosen from a large pool of applicants. Schools were assessed using a rigorous rubric to evaluate the quality of their responses, and we are proud that Footprints International School was recognised for our strong application.

The ASEAN-Australia BRIDGE Program connects schools in Australia and Southeast Asia, fostering collaboration through an 18-month journey that includes:

  1. Professional learning workshops for educators.
  2. Reciprocal teacher visits between partner schools.
  3. Student activities to build global competence and intercultural understanding.

This opportunity will allow Footprints to develop a meaningful partnership with an Australian school, engaging our teachers and students in shared learning experiences that promote cultural exchange and collaboration. Beyond the formal timeline of the program, Footprints will foster long-lasting relationships not only with our partner school in Australia but also with other participating ASEAN schools, creating a broader network of shared learning and global engagement.

Making the Holidays Special: Creative Ways to Spend Time with Your Family

As the end-of-year holiday season approaches (Monday, December 23, 2024, to Wednesday, January 8, 2025), many families at Footprints International School are looking forward to a well-deserved break. This time offers an opportunity to bond with your children and create lasting memories. Here are some tips to help you make the most of the holiday season:

Balance Rest and Engagement

While rest is essential, maintaining a flexible routine can help strike the right balance. Let your children sleep in, but try to keep a consistent bedtime. Mix relaxation with stimulating activities, and use a simple calendar or countdown to build excitement for upcoming events, including holiday celebrations.

Embrace New Traditions

The holiday break is the perfect time to introduce new family traditions. Explore local landmarks or take a walk in nearby parks and nature reserves. You could also cook together as a family, experiment with new recipes, or make your favourite holiday treats.

Encourage Learning Through Fun

Learning doesn’t have to stop during the break! Engage your children in hands-on activities like science experiments, puzzles, or building projects that foster creativity and critical thinking. Practice math skills while cooking together or shopping for groceries. Consider working on a DIY project, such as repairing or refurbishing household items or creating something imaginative.

Foster Creativity and Exploration

Encourage your children’s imagination with activities that promote creativity. Set up an art station with diverse materials, create a cosy reading nook with books that capture their interest, and explore new hobbies together, whether it’s drawing, music, or photography.

Give Back to the Community

Use this time to teach your children the value of kindness and helping others. Volunteer at a local charity or organise a donation drive for those in need. Small acts of kindness, like helping a neighbour or performing random acts of goodwill, can make a big impact and help your children understand the importance of giving back.

Prepare for Going Back to School

As the holiday break comes to a close, it’s time to begin preparing for school. Review what your children have learned over the break, and introduce fun ways to ease back into their study routines. Organise school supplies, create a back-to-school checklist and discuss the exciting activities they’ll look forward to in the upcoming semester.

This holiday break is an opportunity for relaxation, learning, adventure, and reflection. Balance downtime with enriching activities that strengthen family connections, support your child’s growth, and create cherished memories. Enjoy the holidays!
