Footprints International School empowers our learners to discover their potential in a nurturing environment through innovative instruction, challenging and collaborative activities, and exposure to diverse perspectives.
A community of responsible, determined and compassionate learners who make meaningful contributions to humanity.
Our core values are compassion, determination and responsibility.
Jom Riab Sua,
Dear Parents, Guardians and wider school community members, welcome to the 2025/2026 school year.
My name is André Struve and I serve as the School Director at Footprints International School.
It was wonderful to see both familiar and new faces during the first weeks of classes.
All of our new staff have arrived and those from overseas are settling in nicely. Our school has become even more diverse through the hiring of new teaching staff.
During our teacher orientation week, we celebrated the addition of teaching professionals. We are excited to welcome them to our team and to have them make their own unique contributions to our school.
Our international faculty now consists of professionals from more than 15 countries including America, Australia, Great Britain, Cambodia, Canada, The Philippines, Germany, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Portugal, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Syria, who lead the learning of more than 1000 students across our two campuses.
Next, I would like to take this opportunity to announce the introduction of a new study pathway for our students: the International Programme with Khmer Language and Culture.
Currently, this pathway is on offer to G1-G5 students, and incorporates both the Cambridge International curriculum and Khmer language and culture lessons.
It provides students with our International High School diploma, which is equivalent to the National High School diploma and allows for acceptance into Cambodian universities.
The main benefits of this pathway include the opportunity for students to excel in the Cambridge curriculum while still having time to enjoy extracurricular clubs, social activities and school life.
Finally, let me share some thoughts about our Educational Anchors. It is important to us that the whole school community is familiar with the school’s Educational Anchors, a series of attributes that define the emphasis of educational practices in our school and reflect the school’s mission, vision and values which are meant to gear student learning towards the achievement of our Schoolwide Learner Outcomes. One fundamental concept underlying our daily educational practices here at Footprints is the Growth Mindset.
The Growth Mindset is a mental disposition researched by Ms. Carol Dweck, which has gained increasing popularity and acceptance among educators and neuroscientists worldwide since the publication of her book in 2011.
Dweck highlights a distinction between a fixed mindset, where people believe that qualities such as talent and intelligence are unchangeable, and a growth mindset, which suggests that our basic abilities can be advanced through hard work and commitment.
With a fixed mindset, learners attribute their failures to a lack of ability. With a growth mindset, they will have more confidence and determination, learn at a faster rate and face challenges head-on.
By promoting a growth mindset in our students, we empower them to realise their potential, take ownership of their education, and develop a love of lifelong learning.
All that remains is to wish you and your family all the very best for the new school year ahead. Please feel free to reach out to our family engagement team for any questions or concerns you may have.
We wish you and your family all the very best for the new school year ahead.
Stay confident,
Jom riab lia!
Andre Struve
Director
It is my great pleasure to serve our school community as the Vice President (Operations) starting from the 2025–26 school year.
Having been with Footprints since 2016, I am honoured to have had the opportunity to support our students and staff and to contribute to improving learning across various areas of the school. I firmly believe that the best learning occurs in a happy and supportive environment. Teachers, educators, and other stakeholders serve as the scaffolding that supports each student in reaching their full potential.
Students have always been my central focus. They deserve a safe, secure, and high-quality learning environment. Each student must be treated as a whole person and be given equal opportunities to grow and thrive. Everything we do, and every decision we make, must be guided by what is best for our students. This remains my unwavering dedication and commitment.
As Deputy School Director, my role is to ensure that our campuses run smoothly so that our teachers can focus on teaching and our students can focus on learning. I’ve spent over 15 years working in international education, and I’m passionate about building systems that make our school a safe, welcoming, and well-organised place for everyone. At Footprints, I’m proud to be part of a team that puts students first and works every day to make our community stronger.
I am honoured to serve as the Early Childhood Programme (ECP) Principal at Footprints International School, where I have the privilege of leading a dedicated team committed to nurturing curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning in our youngest students. Drawing on over 13 years of experience in early years and lower primary classrooms, along with a Master of Psychology in Child Development and ongoing doctoral studies in Educational Leadership, I continue to learn and grow alongside our children and educators. I am passionate about fostering an environment where children grow as Curious Explorers, Kind Listeners, and Brave Leaders. Together with families and educators, I aim to create a nurturing environment where every child feels safe, respected, and confident enough to reach for the stars!
Dear Footprints Community and Parents,
As Primary Programme Principal, I am honoured to lead our dedicated and caring Primary team. Now in my fifth year at Footprints, one of my greatest daily joys is connecting with our wonderful students. With a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard Business School Online, a Master’s degree in International Cultural and Business Studies from Passau University, and over 9 years of experience as a teacher and educational leader, I am passionate about student well-being, personalised learning, and strong family partnerships.
I am extremely proud of the ongoing enhancement of our Primary programme, in particular about last year’s introduction of the Komodo Wellbeing Program for Grade 5 to effectively monitor and support student well-being. Our reading and phonics curriculum together with our successful reading intervention program has also led to record-high literacy rates in the school year 2024-25, with over 50% of our students being secure in their grade-specific reading levels.
During this new school year 2025-26, I am excited about strengthening teacher collaboration and instructional practices through the approach of Trust Based Observations, about strengthening our students’ social-emotional learning with an even stronger focus on our well-established Jigsaw program and about expanding hands-on mathematical learning through investigations and projects, enabling our students to apply learned skills in real-world contexts.
I look forward to supporting you and your child on this enriching journey!
Sincerely,
Christine Guenster
As the new Vice Principal of the Primary Programme, I am excited to bring over 10 years of international experience to a community that truly puts students first. Throughout my journey in education, I have had the privilege of teaching and leading in diverse settings across Europe, Southeast Asia, and the UAE. These experiences have shaped my passion for inclusive, high-impact education and strengthened my belief that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and inspired. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in International Education and am currently pursuing a Master’s in Educational Leadership. My mission is to create systems that allow our teachers to thrive in the classroom and our students to flourish in a safe, well-organised, and joyful learning environment. I am proud to join the dedicated team at Footprints and look forward to building a strong, connected school community together.
Dear Footprints Families and Community,
Welcome back to a new academic year! I’m thrilled to start my eighth year with you, inspired by the remarkable growth we witness each year. It is truly an honour to be a part of such a dedicated community.
Last year, we set out to empower student leadership. I’m incredibly proud to share that they have truly embodied what Footprints is all about: building a community of responsible, determined, and compassionate learners who make meaningful contributions to humanity. Their leadership was evident in their active involvement in Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences, their thoughtful selection of our new school mascot and logo design, their enthusiastic facilitation of inter-campus sports competitions, and their passionate dedication to community service activities. From river cleanups to building shelters, serving as hall monitors, and beyond, they’ve shown commitment to making a positive impact.
This year, we’ll place a strong emphasis on Socio-Emotional Learning for all grade levels, adopting the Wellbeing Curriculum from Cambridge which provides our students with the tools and strategies they need to navigate their emotions, build healthy relationships, and thrive in all aspects of their lives.
We’re also committed to strengthening the connection between our school and the wider community through Enhanced Service Learning and Community Service, Guest Speaker Integration and Strategic Involvement in Local and International Competitions.
By fostering a strong sense of community and providing our students with a well-rounded education, we’re preparing them to become the leaders and changemakers of tomorrow.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
As the Vice Principal of International Secondary Program at Footprints International School, I consider it both an honour and a responsibility to support our students, staff, and community in fostering a positive and dynamic learning environment. I am committed to promoting academic excellence, holistic development, and a culture of respect and collaboration. Together, we aim to nurture confident, responsible, and well-rounded individuals prepared for the future. I look forward to a wonderful School Year.
At Footprints International School, we believe that every child deserves an exceptional education that inspires a lifelong love of learning. Our Schoolwide Learner Outcomes (SLOs) provide a framework for academic and personal growth, emphasising critical thinking, communication, and character development. Our dedicated teachers and staff create a supportive and inclusive environment that nurtures each child’s unique strengths and passions. With a commitment to excellence and a focus on student-centred learning, we prepare our students to succeed in an ever-changing world.
