School-Home Communication

Communication & Announcements to Parents

FIS values parents’ input and places importance on communication between home and school as a way to support a child’s education and to aid in the smooth running of the school.

Class Dojo App is the primary method of communication between home and school. This app is a communication app for the classroom. It connects teachers, parents, and students who use it to share photos, videos, and messages through the school day. Teachers uses ClassDojo to work together as a team, share in the classroom experience, and bring big ideas to life in their classrooms and homes. Teachers messages in this app to inform parents regarding field trips, changes in schedules, assemblies, special classroom news or activities, comments from teachers, and any notices being sent from the office. Parents are also encouraged to write in the app in either English or Khmer, to provide information or to respond to a teacher’s comments. Please feel free to ask your classroom teacher to organize translation of any comments they make.

All FIS programs in International and Khmer use Class Dojo for Parent-Teacher Communication.

In an effort to be more environmentally friendly and communicate better with parents FIS will begin using electronic communication exchanges in place of paper notices sent home in the child’s bag. We will send text messages on Telegram and emails for mass communication. Please be sure your phone number and email address are up to date so are messages reach you.
