Position Description: Social-Emotional Learning Specialist

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Develop a social-emotional learning and counseling system across all campuses for Secondary students.
  • Establish effective intervention practices, record and file systems as well as confidentiality protocols.
  • Manage a counseling office with an organized and open schedule for students seeking the service.
  • Work with the school health and safety committee to collaborate on student well being matters.
  • Work closely and ensure systematic flow of information with the SEN team, the ELL support teachers, the medical staff, teachers and others who are involved in student support interventions to ensure that holistic approaches are in place   
  • Work with the Focus on Learning (SLT) committee to provide evidence and reflection on the work achievement, progress and continuing improvement plans. 
  • Work with the management to introduce programs that promote students well being and positive behavioral development.
  • Consult with Principals and teachers on matters relating to attendance, misconduct, and incidents and look for trends in order to assist the school in managing these issues in a proactive and systemic manner
  • Facilitate community social service partnerships and linkages for the school
  • Provide information material to the community engagement team for promoting social and emotional learning via social and other media.
  • Provide orientation and training to other staff members in matters related to social-emotional learning
  • Organize awareness campaigns, e.g. around mental health day, etc.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Therapy or Counseling
  • Native-level English proficiency
  • Self-directed and self-aware 
  • Experience working in an international school setting
  • Excellent counseling and mediation skills 
  • Compassionate, organized, flexible and a team player
  • Excellent record of professional and personal integrity
  • Clear criminal record check from home country or in Cambodia, no longer than six months.
